The Races
The Races
Amateur Division
The race is for 18 and older participants and begins with a short dash to your board before launching into the Clark Fork River.
The sprint is just a 1/3 mile of paddling through the middle of the town of Superior, Montana, on the Clark Fork River.
The race will run in heats of up to 10 paddlers randomly drawn.
The top two finishers in each heat will advance to the final.
The finals will decide 1st place - ($200), 2nd place - ($150), and 3rd place- ($100).
Competitors don't have to be dressed up in costumes, but it sure makes it more fun!
Entry fee is $25.
To get a qualified time, the racer and board must cross under the bridge together.
No board? No problem. It is a friendly competition and there are others who will loan you a board.
ALL Racers must wear an approved life preserver.

If you race competitively, please place yourself in this category. We want to keep the amateur race as competitive and fun as possible.

Get ready to lock in your pace and test your aerobic threshold. The ultimate test of sustained speed and river reading is here with the 5-Mile Downriver Endurance Race.
Whether you are an elite racer hunting for the podium or a seasoned paddler looking to push your personal limits, this five-mile stretch of the river will demand strategic pacing, clean lines, and relentless grit from start to finish.
What to Expect:
The Distance: 5 miles of continuous, downriver paddling.
The Strategy: This isn't a quick sprint—success requires finding the fastest water, navigating currents cleanly, and managing your energy reserves so you have enough fuel left for a hammer-down finish.
The Field: Expect a highly competitive atmosphere as top distance paddlers lineup side-by-side on the water.
The Grind:
Five miles on a moving river means every stroke counts. Paddlers will need to read the water effectively to stay in the primary flow, avoid sluggish eddies, and handle the physical toll of sustained, high-cadence paddling. It is a true test of physical endurance and mental focus.
Race Logistics & Reminders:
Gear Up: Ensure your hydration setups, boards, and fins are optimized for distance river paddling.
Safety First: Approved personal flotation devices (PFDs) are strictly mandatory for all participants.
Community Vibe: While the competition will be fierce at the front of the pack, this downriver cruise is a celebration of our paddling community. Stick around after crossing the finish line to cheer on your fellow racers and swap stories from the water!

New this year! Our Superhero Race will now be a Technical race.
Winner Takes All!
Are you ready to claim the crown? This high-stakes, technical race tests your upriver power and transitional speed. There are no second-place prizes here—it is a high-energy shootout for both the Men’s and Women’s divisions.
The Stakes:
The Prize: Winner Takes All! The champion of each division walks away with the cash.
The Trophy: The first superhero to the finish line secures the legendary Clark Fork Crown.
The Course & Rules
A water start down river to strategically placed buoys (see race map), under the bridge, around a buoy and back up the river to the finish.
Mandatory Gear:
All racers are encouraged to wear a superhero costume.
Safety: An approved life preserver is strictly required for all racers.
Registration:
Entry Fee: $25
Capacity: No cap on entries—the more racers who sign up, the bigger the cash jackpot grows!
The Race For The Youth
The Race For The Youth
This race will be for 10-17 year olds.
Competitors will be divided at random into even heats. If less than 15 register, there will be only one race.
Same rules as the adult race.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st place ($150), 2nd place ($100), and 3rd place ($50).
Entry fee is $20.
ALL Racers must wear an approved life preserver.
50 and Over Race
50 and Over Race
This race will be for 50-year-olds and older.
We will run one heat/final, and the maximum number of competitors will be capped at 20.
Same rules as the adult amateur race.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st place prize package, 2nd place prize package, and 3rd place prize package.
Entry fee is $10.
ALL Racers must wear an approved life preserver.
Better Together
Better Together
This is a two on one board race, you choose who makes up your second.
Your second can be your child, a well behaved dog, or...get creative.
Whoever you choose, both of you must be ON TOP of the board when crossing the line.
Entry fee is $5.
ALL Humans must wear an approved life preserver.
Kings or Queens of the Clark Fork Relay
Kings or Queens of the Clark Fork Relay
Four teammates will compete to win the title of "Queens of the County" or "Kings of the County".
Paddlers One and Three will stage at the starting line.
Paddlers Two and Four will stage down river at our predetermined location.
Paddler One will paddle across the river to pick up the Paddler Two.
One and Two will paddle back to the start to add Paddler Three to the board.
One, Two and Three will paddle back to the down river location where they will add Paddler Four to the board.
One, Two, Three and Four will race to the finish.
The teams must cross the finish line with ALL FOUR MEMBERS TOUCHING THE BOARD in whatever manner they're able to.
Entry fee is a non-perishable donation to the Mineral County Community Food Bank or $5 to be collected the day of the race.

The unique venue for this race allows for amazing vantage points for spectating.
Bring chairs, picnic blankets etc. to set up on the river trail. Or stand on the bridge for your birds-eye view of the finish.
Support the sponsors and local fundraisers, visit the vendors, or stop in at the beer garden.
Explore the town of Superior in the heart of Mineral County.
Costumes are encouraged among the spectators, too!
