Mineral County, Montana - "The Gateway to The Last Best Place" hosts some of the best access to recreation found anywhere. Through recreation, we can come together to support our communities, economies, and residents. In this spirit, we are proud to welcome you to the most unique race around.
Give Me The Details
Amateur Division
The race is for 18 and older participants and begins with a short dash to your board before launching into the Clark Fork River.
The sprint is just a 1/3 mile of paddling through the middle of the town of Superior, Montana, on the Clark Fork River.
The race will run in heats of up to 10 paddlers randomly drawn.
The top two finishers in each heat will advance to the final.
The finals will decide 1st place - ($200), 2nd place - ($150), and 3rd place- ($100).
Competitors don't have to be dressed up in costumes, but it sure makes it more fun!
Entry fee is $30.
To get a qualified time, the racer and board must cross under the bridge together.
No board? No problem. It is a friendly competition and there are others that will loan you a board.
ALL Racers must wear an approved life preserver.

Pro Divison
If you race competitively, please place yourself in this category. We want to keep the amateur race as competitive and fun as possible.

SUPERHERO RACE - Winner Takes All - One Heat Only
In this race, you will paddle upriver from the bridge to the start gate.
The first superhero to reach the start, run down the beach/trail, and hit the alarm button wins.
To start, there will be a countdown of five minutes. Position yourself close but not past the bridge when the countdown hits zero.
All competitors in the SUPERHERO RACE must wear a superhero cape.
Entry fee is $25, no cap on entries, and the winner takes all (minus the processing fees of Registration)
The CLARK FORK CROWN will be awarded to the superhero winner.
ALL Racers must wear an approved life preserver.
What If My Teen Wants In On The Fun?
The Race For The Youth
This race will be for 10-17 year olds.
Competitors will be divided at random into even heats. If less than 15 register, there will only be one race.
Same rules as the adult race.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st place ($200), 2nd place ($150), and 3rd place ($100).
Entry fee is $20.
ALL Racers must wear an approved life preserver.
60 and Over Race
This race will be for 60-year-olds and older
We will run one heat/final, and the maximum number of competitors will be capped at 20
Same rules as the adult amateur race.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st place prize package, 2nd place prize package, and 3rd place prize package.
Entry fee is $10.
ALL Racers must wear an approved life preserver.
What If I Want Less
Just Watch The Shenanigans And Enjoy The Event
The unique venue for this race allows for amazing vantage points for spectating.
Bring chairs, picnic blankets etc. to set up on the river trail. Or stand on the bridge for your birds-eye view of the finish.
Support the sponsors and local fundraisers, visit the vendors, or stop in at the beer garden.
Explore the town of Superior in the heart of Mineral County.
Costumes are encouraged among the spectators, too!
